Oceansouth begon in 1985 in een kleine garage in Melbourne, Australië als een deeltijds project voor het maken van bootladders en bimini-tenten. In 2012 vestigde Oceansouth zijn divisiehoofdkantoor in Miami, waarmee het zijn intrede deed op de Amerikaanse markt met als doel zijn wereldwijde aanwezigheid uit te breiden en Oceansouth naar de wereld te brengen. Deze uitbreiding naar de V.S. was een groot succes, wat leidde tot verdere groei in Noord-Amerika en de basis legde voor Oceansouth’s toetreding tot de Europese sector in 2014, met zijn Europese vestiging in Duitsland.
