Protecting a Honda outboard is about more than keeping it clean. A well-fitted cover helps shield the cowling, decals, controls and exposed engine areas from sun, salt, road grime, rain and general storage wear. Oceansouth Honda outboard covers are designed for boat owners who want practical protection for trailering, storage, mooring and everyday use, with options to suit different ways of looking after the motor.
This collection includes four Honda-specific cover options: Cover Set (Vented and Full) for Honda, Full Covers for Honda, Vented Covers for Honda and Cowling Covers for Honda (Storage). Each style serves a different purpose, so choosing the right one comes down to how your boat is stored, transported and used on the water.
For owners who want the most complete protection, the Honda Vented and Full Cover Set combines two cover types in one package. The vented cover is intended for use on the cowling while the motor is running, while the full storage cover protects the motor when it is not in use, during storage or while trailering. This is a practical option for boaters who regularly launch, retrieve and store their boat outside.
The Full Covers for Honda provide top-to-prop coverage, making them well suited to winter storage, driveway storage, marina storage and road transport. They are designed with an elasticised hem, soft felt inner lining, heavy duty marine-grade zipper around the skeg, twin rope cleat tightening and double stitching for durability.
The Vented Covers for Honda are designed to stay on the cowling while the motor is running. They feature ventilation, precise cutaways for cowling features, air vents and contours, plus secure fastening systems depending on motor size. For many boat owners, this is the everyday cover used while the boat is active and exposed to spray, sunlight and changing weather.
The Cowling Covers for Honda (Storage) protect the upper cowling during storage and trailering. They are a compact option when full leg coverage is not required but the cowling still needs protection from UV exposure, dust, rain and general wear.
The Honda outboard cover range supports a wide selection of Honda engines, from small portable motors through to larger V6 and V8 models. Available fitments shown in the collection include BF2.3, BF4, BF5, BF6, BF8, BF9.9, BF10, BF15, BF20, BF25, BF30, BF40, BF50, BF60, BFP60, BF75, BF80, BF90, BF100, BF115, BF135, BF140, BF150, BF175, BF200, BF225, BF250, BF300 and BF350 configurations, depending on the cover type selected.
When choosing a cover, always match the engine model, year range and shaft length shown on the product page. Honda outboard cowlings can change between generations, so a cover for an older BF115 to BF150 model may not be the same as a later BF115, BF135, BF140 or BF150 model. Larger engines may also have different shaft length options, including 20 inch, 25 inch and 30 inch versions. Checking these details before purchase helps ensure the best possible fit.
Oceansouth Honda covers are made using 340 g/m² tear-resistant Atlas marine-grade fabric with coating technology for water resistance, UV protection and breathability. The soft felt lining helps protect the cowling finish, while elasticised hems and tightening systems help keep the cover secure around the motor. Double stitching adds strength in areas that are regularly handled, tensioned or exposed to movement.
For trailered boats, fit matters. A loose cover can flap in the wind, wear against the motor or become damaged over time. A shaped Honda cover helps reduce excess movement by following the motor profile more closely than a general-purpose cover. For stored boats, the benefit is just as important: a properly fitted cover helps reduce exposure to dust, grime, salt residue, tree sap, bird droppings and harsh Australian sun.
Outboard protection is often part of a wider boat care setup. If you are comparing different motor brands or looking for universal options, browse the main Outboard Covers collection. For additional protection around the prop area, Oceansouth also offers Propeller Covers. If you are setting up a full storage system for your boat, the Boat Cover Accessories range includes useful support and fastening products for maintaining cover shape and security.
To get the best life from your Honda outboard cover, rinse off salt and dirt with fresh water and allow the fabric to dry before long-term storage. Avoid packing the cover away while wet, and do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools on the fabric or lining. Regularly check the seams, elastic, cleats, straps and zipper areas, especially after trailering or extended outdoor exposure.
A cover is most effective when it is fitted correctly. Make sure the cover is seated properly around the cowling, engine mount and lower section where applicable. Tighten the cover firmly without over-stressing the seams or fastening points. For long road trips, inspect the cover during stops to confirm it remains secure.
Oceansouth covers are designed by a marine accessories specialist with decades of experience producing boat covers, bimini tops, outboard covers and related boating equipment. The range is built around practical use: storage, trailering, running protection, UV exposure, water resistance and ease of fitting. Rather than offering one generic cover for every situation, Oceansouth gives Honda owners a choice between vented, full, cowling-only and combination cover options.
Whether you run a small portable Honda outboard, a mid-range family boating setup or a larger offshore engine, the right cover helps protect your investment between trips. Browse the Honda outboard cover collection above to select the cover type, engine model, year range and shaft length that best suits your motor.
